Magical Stuff: A Fantasy Writing Workshop

Recommended for 10-16 year olds.

Do you love the wands, time turners and orbs in Harry Potter? Have you always wanted your own alethiometer?

If you love fantasy writing and the magical things in it, this writing workshop with Southampton Libraries’ Writer in Residence Nazneen Ahmed will help you develop your own stuff-based stories.

You’ll learn how to build magical worlds and drive fantasy stories forward using objects, and how to turn ordinary things into extraordinary stuff that any reader will want for themselves!

Nazneen is British Bangladeshi and lives in Southampton.

She writes fiction and poetry for children and adults. She is completing a historical fantasy novel for young adults under Penguin Random House’s Write Now Live mentorship scheme. From June 2017 – June 2018 she is Writer in Residence at Southampton’s public libraries, in association with the Arts Council funded project So:Write.

She is represented by Louise Lamont at LBA Books.
