The Monster & Mary Shelley
Occasion Theatre present a one woman featuring Catherine Gillard show ‘in progress’.
This is an outlandish trip through the mind of one of English literature’s most influential imaginations. It asks ‘who was the real Mary Shelley?’.
This piece resonates with Rownhams House as one of Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’ manuscripts once resided in the library here.
The ‘Urbane Forager’ Alan Gibson and a group of actors and musicians from Southampton’s ‘Sofa City’ collective interpret Edgar Allan Poe’s American gothic masterpiece. Expect evocative visuals, sonorous recitation and eerie dulcimer. Prepare yourself for deep double bass, droning hurdy-gurdy and a Raven that only knows one word.
The evening begins at 6pm with a firelight pumpkin procession to the lake, and there will be dancing to renowned DJs McAllister & Dunlop in the Coach House after the performances.
A licensed bar will also be open, and food will be available .
Tickets £10 from Rownhams House firstname.lastname@example.org
